The New Jersey Devils will be without their leading scorer Taylor Hall for at least two games with a hand issue.
Head coach John Hynes made the announcement when he met the media before Monday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings. Hall will miss the Red Wings’ game and Tuesday’s game against the Boston Bruins. Hynes said Hall will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Hall, who is the Devils’ lone representative at next weekend’s all-star game, leads the team with 17 goals and 48 assists.
It’s unclear when the injury occurred. Hall did play in Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers, but missed Sunday’s practice.
Hall is the second Devils forward to go on the mend with a hand injury this week. On Sunday, the team placed Brian Gibbons on injured reserve with a similar injury. Gibbons isn’t eligible to return until after the all-star break.
