Dubinsky’s shootout goal lifts Blue Jackets over Panthers

Brandon Dubinsky was the only one to find the back of the net during the shootout and it gave the Columbus Blue Jackets the 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Brandon Dubinsky scored the only shootout goal in the third round, and Scott Hartnell had a goal and assist as the hot Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Atlantic Division-leading Florida Panthers 4-3 on Saturday.

Seth Jones and Brandon Saad also scored for Columbus, which has won nine of its last 14 games. Alexander Wennberg added two assists. Joonas Korpisalo made 28 saves in regulation and overtime to pick up an 11th win in his last 16 starts.

Aleksander Barkov, Vincent Trocheck and Logan Shaw scored for Florida. The Panthers entered with wins in three of four games as they try to hold off rivals Tampa Bay and Boston for the division crown. Roberto Luongo had 22 saves in regulation and overtime.

Dubinsky initially mishandled the puck but still was able roof a hard shot for the clinching goal.
