ECHL’s Walleye to wear Don Cherry tribute sweaters

Ron & Don talk about the Winter Classic in Boston and Canada’s performance at the World Juniors, plus their prediction for next year.

It’s no secret that Don Cherry’s legendary suits are a Saturday night staple for Canadians. People are often duplicating his signature style for Halloween costumes or Sportsnet commercials.

On Jan. 23, the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye are taking their appreciation for Grapes’ suit game to a whole new level by rocking some loud checkered tribute jerseys during their home game against the Utah Grizzlies.

Take a look at these beauties:

The team will auction off the jerseys after the game, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society and the Walleye Wishing Well.

We’re giving these two Don Cherry thumbs up.
