Edmonton Oilers introduce new mascot ‘Hunter’

The Edmonton Oilers have a new mascot, and he’s scaring the Internet.

The Oilers introduced Hunter the Lynx on Twitter Monday morning, and he immediately caused quite a stir with hockey fans.

The initial reaction of many was that Hunter, named after original Oilers owner “Wild Bill” Hunter, isn’t as kid-friendly as the Oilers had hoped.

Others thought he looked a little familiar…

Scary or not, Hunter already has some fans.

But hey, it’s nice to see Connor McDavid taking on a new role with his team.
