At the ripe age of 18, forward Jack Eichel will represent the U.S. Men’s National Team at the IIHF Men’s World Championship in two weeks time.
Eichel was captain of the U.S. National Junior Team in 2015, and served as the alternate captain in the 2014 Under-18 tournament where the club won gold.
This will mark the fifth time the 2014-15 Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner will represent his native country.
Eichel is likely to be drafted after Connor McDavid in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft after putting up 26 goals and 71 points in 40 games with Boston University.
The tournament runs from May 1-17 in Ostrava and Prague, Czech Republic.
