Sharknado is the biggest trending topic on the internet right now, and ESPN attempted to ride off it – at the expense of the San Jose Sharks. Unfortunately, it backfired:

For those who don’t know, Sharknado is a film, starring Tara Reid, about a tornado that lifts sharks out of the ocean and deposits them in Los Angeles.
ESPN wasn’t the only “victim” — the St. Louis Blues also failed to successfully make the Sharks the butt-end of a joke:
