EuroVision: Highlights, notes, tweets and photos from across the pond — where the lockout doesn’t quite translate

“Sometimes you score in bunches when you play with the older guys because they think faster and create more opportunities for you to get points,” Nail Yakupov says in “Coming Home,” a new documentary on the KHL star’s return to Canada this season.

Hockey reporters Steve “Dangle” Glynn and Andrey Osadchenko put together this nice little piece on the 19-year-old sensation. Watch the story of the return of Edmonton Oilers first-overall draft pick to Sarnia, Ont., for the Subway Super Series.

The 15-minute mini movie is compiled from two interviews with Yakupov and a sit-down with his friend and former teammate, Montreal Canadiens draftee Alex Galchenyuk.

Last week forward Leo Komarov was practising for an AHL team in Toronto’s Ricoh Centre. On Friday he was setting up a lovely goal for Moscow Dynamo linemate Alex Ovechkin:

Komarov had two assists in his KHL return. Should the lockout end, the Leafs prospect will return to North America and attempt to make the NHL.

My goodness, Tyler Seguin is on fire.

Dude now has 19 goals and 12assists for 31 points in 19 games in Switzerland. (For those scoring at home, Phil Kessel has yet to register a point in 2012-13.)

The EHC Biel scorer notched his third hat trick of the season Friday in a 4-2 victory over SC Bern.

Apparently, he could have had a fourth if he wanted:

Should be noted that Kane did score Biel’s other goal of the game.

Rich Nash sat out HC Davos’s game Friday:

But his big buddy, Joe Thornton, finally got his name back on the score sheet:

Montreal Canadiens D-man Rafael Diaz continues to play well:

In 2013, Paul Henderson will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The IIHF Hall of Fame, that is.

Joining Henderson in the ’13 international player class are Swedes Peter Forsberg and Mats Sundin, Canadian Danielle Goyette and Finland’s Teppo Numminen.

Henderson and the rest will be inducted on May 19 in Stockholm.

Safe to say Nicklas Backstrom is a fan favourite in Moscow.

He had a four-point birthday game Friday as Dynamo defeated Severstal 5-3.

His best point? This must-see assist on Ovechkin’s goal:

Must’ve thought he was at a Sacramento Kings hockey game:

The Jagr-Plekanec connection continues to roll:

And not all Americans devote November’s holiday to the NFL:
