Flames assign two players to AHL, place two on waivers

Hockey Central at Noon discussion on the breaking news that the Calgary Flames have signed 45-year old Jaromir Jagr, with John Shannon scratching his head over the move a wee bit.

The Calgary Flames have assigned defenceman Rasmus Andersson and goaltender Jon Gillies to the AHL’s Stockton Heat.

Calgary has also placed forwards Garnet Hathaway and Luke Gazdic on waivers.

Twenty-five players remain at Flames camp, not including the injured Daniel Pribyl and Marek Hrivik.

The Flames open their season on the road against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.
