The Flames could be without Mikael Backlund down the stretch after the forward was seen wearing a walking boot and using crutches following Calgary’s 6-3 win over the Nashville Predators Friday night.

Backlund, who recently returned to the lineup after missing 14 games with an MCL sprain, appeared to injure his ankle while blocking a shot in the third period.

No further details were provided on the nature of the injury.

The 23-year-old forward has four goals and seven points in 12 games this season.
