The Calgary Flames have brought back veteran forward Kris Versteeg on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old from Lethbridge, Alb., played 69 games for the Flames last season, scoring 15 goals and 37 points — his highest total since 2011-2012 with the Florida Panthers.
Versteeg has 93 games of playoff experience and won two Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks. He scored one goal and added three assists in the Flames’ four-game playoff series last season.
