Flames recall Andrew Mangiapane; place Michael Frolik on IR

Calgary Flames' Michael Frolik was forced to leave Thursday's contest against the San Jose Sharks after taking a Brent Burns wrist shot to the face.

CALGARY — The Calgary Flames recalled forward Andrew Mangiapane from the Stockton Heat on Sunday and placed forward Michael Frolik on injured reserve.

Mangiapane has 33 points (14 goals, 19 assists) in 29 American Hockey League games this season.

Frolik suffered a jaw injury in Thursday’s game in San Jose after taking a puck to the face. He has 15 points (7-8) in 37 games for the Flames this season.
