The Calgary Flames recalled Brad Thiessen from AHL Adirondack on Sunday after starting goaltender Karri Ramo left Saturday’s game vs the Oilers with what appeared to be a leg injury.
The 29-year-old Thiessen is 10-14-7 with a 3.02 goals-against average in 32 games with Adirondack this season. He signed with the Flames as a free agent in the summer of 2014.
Ramo was helped off the ice by trainers when he suffered the injury, which occurred in the first minute of the Flames’ 4-0 win over Edmonton.
Thiessen previously played five games with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011-12, posting a 3-1-0 record.
