Claude Giroux managed to avoid serious injury on Friday night versus the Carolina Hurricanes after he suffered a cut to his leg from Justin Faulk’s skate.
The Flyers declared Giroux probable for Saturday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils, but that did not turn out to be the case.
Giroux was not on the ice for pre-game warmups and the forward will not play against the Devils.
Giroux’s left leg was bloodied on the play and he had to be helped off the ice. He was upbeat in speaking with the media after the game.
Giroux is second behind Jakub Voracek for the Flyers team lead in scoring with 13 goals and 43 assists in 38 games this season.
