Flyers’ Michael Raffl leaves after scary incident on bench

Play between the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers is stopped when Michael Raffl heads to the dressing room with a mysterious injury.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Michael Raffl left Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers following a scary incident on his team’s bench.

The 26-year-old Austrian skated into Jarret Stoll’s elbow early in the second period and went to the bench. Several seconds into the next shift something occurred with Raffl on the Flyers bench. Play was blown dead when Flyers players yelled and banged their sticks to get the officials’ attention.

Raffl appeared woozy and was assisted to his team’s locker room.

On Jan. 2, 2014, Raffl sustained a concussion in a game against the Colorado Avalanche.
