The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed defenceman Nick Schultz to a multi-year deal, according to an official release.
Schultz’s new contract is reportedly a two-year deal worth $2.25 million annually.
Schultz signed with the Flyers on July 2, 2014 after stops in Minnesota, Edmonton and Columbus over the course of his 13-year career.
The 32-year-old has two goals, 13 points and a plus-6 plus/minus rating in 55 games this season with the Flyers.
In terms of possession totals, Schultz currently sports the second-lowest Corsi-for rating among Flyers defencemen with a 47.8% mark, sitting slightly above Nicklas Grossmann’s 45.6%.
Schultz was selected in the second round (33rd overall) by the Minnesota Wild at the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
The Flyers trail the Boston Bruins by six points for the Eastern Conference’s second wild card berth.
