Flyers sign veteran Gill to one-year contract

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed veteran defenceman Hal Gill to a one-year deal worth $700,000.

Gill appeared in 32 games for Nashville last season, recording zero points. He became an unrestricted free agent on July 5.

The 6’7″ stay-at-home defenceman joined the Flyers on a professional tryout, playing in three pre-season games.

Philadelphia opens its schedule on Wednesday at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
