Forward Brett Connolly agrees to two-year contract with Capitals

Forward Brett Connolly has agreed to a two-year, $3-million contract with the Washington Capitals.

The new deal will pay the 25-year-old an average of $1.5 million per season, up from the $850,000 he earned in 2016-17.

Connolly, 25, had 15 goals and 23 points in 66 games this past season, his first with Washington. He has 42 goals and 82 points in 276 career games split between the Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins and Capitals.
