The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed enforcer Frazer McLaren on waivers.

McLaren is minus-3 without registering a point in 26 games with the Leafs and has logged more than five minutes of ice time in a game only seven times this season.

If the Winnipeg native goes unclaimed, it’s expected he will report to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

The 26-year-old has a salary cap hit of $700,000 and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2014-15.

Nashville Predators netminder Devan Dubnyk was also placed on waivers. Pekka Rinne is expected to return to the Preds lineup this week following a long layoff and the team has decided to go with Carter Hutton as their backup.

Dubnyk was acquired from the Oilers in January and costs the Predators $1.75 million toward the salary cap (Edmonton retained half of his $3.5-million salary in the trade).

Also, the Pittsburgh Penguins waived Chuck Kobasew and the Oilers waived Philip Larsen.
