Get an inside look at Las Vegas arena construction

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly joined Prime Time Sports to talk about potential expansion in the league, and what makes Las Vegas such a unique market.

The NHL appears destined to land in Las Vegas. A prospective owner, Bill Foley, is in place and an application for expansion has been filed with the league. All that’s left is for an arena to be built – and that’s not far off completion, either.

The MGM-AEG Arena, a 20,000-seat, $350 million project just off the Vegas strip, is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2016 and now you can look in on how the interior of the building is coming together. A camera has been set up so anyone can have a live look at the construction process. Check it out here.

The new arena will be state of the art, using technology that tracks visitors’ age and gender in an effort to target ads to specific demographics.

The NHL has indicated that any potential expansion would be for the 2017-18 season.
