Vegas Golden Knights starter Marc-Andre Fleury won’t play this week, though “he’s getting better every day,” according to head coach Gerard Gallant.

Fleury took a knee to the head in a loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 13, and was placed on injured reserve with a concussion two days later.

The 32-year-old was brought in to be the face of the expansion franchise, and has performed well in goal for Vegas, posting a 2.48 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in four games.

His replacement between the pipes, Malcolm Subban, was put on IR on Sunday, and is expected to miss four weeks with a lower-body injury.

The Golden Knights are currently sporting a goaltending duo of Oscar Dansk and Maxime Lagace, with Gallant not ready to commit to either for Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Dansk played in relief of Subban and picked up the win on Saturday against St. Louis.

Gallant also provided an update on injured forwards Jonathan Marchessault and Erik Haula, saying “they’re both real close.”

Marchessault and Haula, like Fleury, were hurt against the Red Wings, with the two forwards suffering a lower-body injuries.
