Vegas Golden Knights forward James Neal has been placed on the injured non-roster list.

Neal hasn’t played this pre-season, still recovering from a hand injury suffered during last spring’s playoffs.

The 30-year-old was selected in the NHL Expansion Draft by Vegas, after a 23-goal, 41-point season with the Nashville Predators.

He added six goals and three assists during Nashville’s run to the Stanley Cup final.

His $5-million salary will still count towards Vegas’ cap, though he may not practise with the team.
