The Vegas Golden Knights have selected Cody Glass with the franchise’s first-ever draft pick, at No. 6 overall.
Glass had a tremendous 2016-17 with the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks after a difficult off-season. The Winnipeg native more than tripled his rookie point totals, registering 32 goals and 62 assists for 94 points in 69 games during his all-important draft campaign that saw him rocket up the prospect rankings.
The quick-thinking playmaker has been compared to Jets forward Mark Scheifele and Predators’ Ryan Johansen, thanks to his versatility and strong two-way game. The right-shot centreman was ranked at No. 6 among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting.
