The Vegas Golden Knights have signed defenceman Griffin Reinhart to a two-year contract with an annual average value of $800,000.

The 23-year-old blue-liner was selected by the Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft from the Edmonton Oilers.

Reinhart appeared in one game for the Oilers this past season, notching an assist in Edmonton’s 7-1 blowout of the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals. The Vancouver native skated in 54 games for the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors during the 2016-17 campaign, recording seven goals and 21 points along with 42 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating.

Reinhart was acquired by the Oilers in a June 2015 trade with the New York Islanders, who selected the defenceman fourth overall in the 2012 NHL Draft.
