Anton Khudobin’s second stint with the Boston Bruins will see the goaltender sport an interesting mask.
The 30-year-old showed off his mask for Boston media on Thursday demonstrating how the design, which includes “Sub-zero” paint, changes colour when covered in hot or cold water.
“Anton always wants original and unique masks so we brainstormed with Dobby and went with the old Bruins logo on top with a Matte finish to get a bigger contrast from the background,” designer Sylvie Marsolais told InGoal Magazine.
“As the cold water hits the mask it darkens to Black.”

Originally a seventh-round pick of the Minnesota Wild, Khudobin is back with Boston after signing a two-year, $2.4 million contract with the Bruins on July 1. The Russian goaltender split last season between the Anaheim Ducks and their AHL affiliate in San Diego.
Khudobin previously spent time with the Boston between 2010 and 2013 before joining the Carolina Hurricanes.
