Rookies William Nylander and Jack Eichel met on NHL ice for the second time in their young careers Thursday night with the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Buffalo Sabres.
Thursday also marks the NHL debut of 2014 Columbus Blue Jackets’ first-round draft pick Sonny Milano in a game versus the New York Islanders.
Seems like an opportune evening to highlight a photo of Eichel, Nylander, and Milano as minor hockey teammates with the AAA Boston Junior Bruins in 2006.
That’s Eichel looking like the offspring of Alfred E. Neuman second from the left and Nylander’s unmistakable flow to his left. Milano is pictured holding a trophy.
We’d wager that was a productive young line.
Eichel was selected second overall in the 2015 NHL Draft last summer. Nylander and Milano were taken eighth overall and 16th overall, respectively, in the 2014 NHL Draft.
