Hockey is certainly no stranger to weird objects being thrown onto the ice. The Detroit Red Wings have the infamous Legend of the Octopus, the Florida Panthers get the odd shower of (hopefully) rubber rats, and the Toronto Maple Leafs, to their dismay, have seen a few waffles rain down from the rafters.
The ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors decided to go in a different direction: Undie Sunday.
Similar to the more common Teddy Bear Toss, fans were asked to bring brand new undergarments — bras, underwear, boxers, socks, undershirts, diapers and more— to Sunday’s game, all of which will be donated to a variety of local charities.
