Gotta See It: When someone else blacks out, it’s usually a pretty memorable night for everyone else.
Such was the case Tuesday when Washington Capitals forward Eric Fehr went temporarily unconscious in slicing through the Boston Bruins defence and flipping the puck high-glove and into the net as he was tumbling into glory. A fantastic winner just 37 ticks into overtime that put an exclamation point on the Bruins’ blowing of a three-goal lead. Cue the man hugs.
“I kind of blacked out for a bit there,” Fehr told reporters after he iced the Caps’ 4-3 come-from-behind victory. “But saw the puck on my stick close to the net, saw (goalie Tuukka Rask) was leaning my way, so just tried to chip it over.”
Fehr complemented his OT heroics with a pair of assists on the night. The 27-year-old now has five goals and six assists in 11 games; the guy hasn’t been putting up points at this rate since 2009-10, the only season he hit the 20-goal mark.
#CapitalsTalk Ironically, only other time Eric Fehr had a 3-point game came against Boston on March 3, 2008 in a 10-2 Capitals win.

Ricky Romero of the Toronto Blue Jays took notice of Fehr’s goal:
Thanks, I was wearing my #Jays gear at the rink today. Let’s get the season started! RT @rickyro24 @ericfehr Sick goal last night bud.
