Gotta See It: Ovechkin dresses up as Batman for Halloween

Evgeny Kuznetsov had a hat trick and five points to get the Capitals a 7-4 win over the Oilers.

It’s that time of year again.

The time for hockey players to shed their team jerseys and opt for something a little more… creative.

Indeed, it’s Halloween – and the Washington Capitals are celebrating early.

Some of the members of the Capitals, fresh off their 7-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers, celebrated Halloween on Saturday.

Team captain (and on-ice superhero) Alex Ovechkin dressed up as Batman along with his fiance, Catwoman. (The couple also introduced their new puppy in the Instagram post.)

Ovechkin also posted a group shot, which includes Evgeny Kuznetsov and Dmitry Orlov (a.k.a. Bugs Bunny).

The squad doesn’t play again until Wednesday, when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins before playing back-to-back games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Florida Panthers on Oct. 30 and 31.

We’re particularly fond of Tom Wilson’s “Wilson” getup, alongside Michael Latta as Tom Hanks in Castaway.

The Capitals have more to celebrate than just their costumes — the club currently sits atop the Metropolitan Division with a record of 6-1-0.
