Gotta See It: Is this the new Toronto Maple Leafs sweater?

Maple Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello joined Prime Time Sports to discuss the trade that saw the Toronto Maple Leafs acquire Frederik Andersen from the Anaheim Ducks for a late first round pick in the 2016 Draft.

New era, new players, new sweater.

Friday night at the NHL Draft in Buffalo, the Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to hand one of their newly designed sweaters to presumptive first-overall pick Auston Matthews, coating an extra layer of symbolism atop the club’s refresh.

Based on info leaked by @13WillieBeamen, SportsLogos.net confirmed details about the Leafs’ 2016-17 uniforms with two sources and mocked up what the whites and darks will look like:

Sportslogos.net, which is run by Chris Creamer, has a solid track record of accurate sweater scoops (look no further than the new Florida Panthers digs).

According to Creamer, Toronto’s new/old veined logo will be splashed on a more basic jersey: no shoulder logos or yoke, a single wide stripe at the waist, two thin stripes on each arm, and a lace-up collar.

It’s important to note that these mock designs were created based on a text-only description and not a leaked photo, but they should provide Leafs fanatics with a good idea of what to expect Friday.
