The Montreal Canadiens will be looking to pad their lead atop the Eastern Conference standings when they visit the Buffalo Sabres as heavy 10/19 moneyline favourites on the NHL betting lines on Friday night.

The Habs have enjoyed a much-needed four-day break, ahead of their home-and-home series with the Sabres this weekend, after dropping a 5-0 decision to the New York Rangers on Sunday night. The loss was just Montreal’s second SU in their last 10, a stretch that has vaulted them to a league-high 33 points going into the US Thanksgiving weekend.

The Sabres have posted SU wins in three of their last four, outscoring opponents 13-6 during that stretch, but still languish at the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings with 14 points in their first 22 games.

The Ottawa Senators continue a five-game road trip this weekend with visits to Florida and Tampa Bay. The Sens have struggled in November with just three SU wins in their last nine, and remain stalled at No. 18 in this week’s OddsShark NHL Power Rankings.

Ottawa has posted SU victories in 19 of their last 25 visits to Florida but takes a 2-4 SU record in their last six on the road into Friday night’s Senators vs. Panthers game at BB&T Center.

The Sens face the Lightning on Saturday night. With just four SU wins in their last eight, the Bolts have lost ground to Montreal in the Atlantic Division, trailing the Habs by a point in the standings, and were 3-2 losers in an early-season visit to Ottawa.

But Tampa Bay have been home beasts this season, SU winners in seven of their last eight on home ice, 9-2-1 overall.

The Winnipeg Jets will be looking to sweep their current three-game road trip when they take on the Boston Bruins on Friday night as 7/5 moneyline underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Jets posted SU victories in Columbus and Buffalo this week to move within three points of Nashville in the tough Central Division.

In other NHL betting action for this weekend, the Vancouver Canucks will be gunning for a third straight win when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night as 10/13 moneyline favourites.

Their date with the Jackets is the first of a seven-game road trip for the Canucks, which ends in Montreal on December 9.
