Blum is Nashville’s remaining unsigned restricted free agent from the summer, though he told The Nashville Tennessean he believes that status could change soon.
Blum, the Predators’ first-round pick in 2007, said Predators general manager David Poile told him “we should have something” by today or Thursday.
“It has been a long time,” Blum said. “I thought it would happen sooner, but it hasn’t.”
Blum started the 2011-12 season with the Predators but was sent to their AHL affiliate in Milwaukee midway through the year. With the Predators, he was minus-14 in 33 games.
Blum was originally called up in February of the 2010-11 season and notched eight points in 23 games. He also played in all 12 playoff games that season.
