Twitter reaction: Crisis in Ottawa

Senators coach Paul MacLean responds to the tragedy in Ottawa, saying their thoughts and prayers are with all those involved, but the team still has to prepare for the game.

The hockey world is responding to the tragedy in Ottawa this morning as a soldier was shot and killed at the War Memorial on Parliament Hill.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are in Ottawa as they were scheduled to renew their provincial rivalry with the Senators this evening at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata. The visiting hockey team, whose hotel is located a short distance from Parliament Hill, is currently under a lock down order as the authorities deal with the security threat.

The NHL postponed Wednesday’s Sens-Leafs game for a date to be named later.
