Record prices for Rangers-Lightning Game 7

Check out all the exclusive Rogers GameCentre Live camera angles from a dominant New York win over Tampa Bay in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.

Much like Henrik Lundqvist, Madison Square Garden is breaking its own Game 7 records this post-season.

Secondary-market tickets for the New York Rangers’ do-or-die tilt versus the Tampa Bay Lightning Friday night at Madison Square Garden are selling for an average price of $1,215.60, according to TiqIQ.com. Or what Rangers fan Donald Trump considers “chump change.”

Though the average ticket was selling for more than $1,500 Wednesday, the current price makes Blueshirts-Bolts the most expensive non-championship Game 7 to hit the secondary market, a record previous held by the Rangers-Capitals Game 7 in Round 2 of these same Stanley Cup playoffs.

The most expensive Game 7 in history belongs to the Bruins-Canucks 2011 Stanley Cup Final ($3,834.74!), followed by the Giant-Royals 2014 World Series ($1,733) and Spurs-Heat 2013 NBA Finals ($1,346.60).
