The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with forward Brock McGinn, the team announced Wednesday.
The deal will pay McGinn $875,000 in 2017-18, and $900,000 in 2018-19.
“Brock took a step forward last season and was a regular presence in our lineup,” Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis said in a release. “He is a young player who plays a physical, but smart brand of hockey, and can contribute offensively.”
The Fergus, Ont., native played in 57 NHL games with Carolina this past season, notching seven goals and nine assists.
Originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round (47th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, McGinn has recorded 10 goals and 10 assists (20 points) in 78 career games with Carolina.
