IceCaps rally back to beat Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Julien Brouillette broke a 2-2 deadlock at 4:25 of the third period as the St. John’s IceCaps erased an early deficit to defeat the host Bridgeport Sound Tigers 3-2 on Saturday in American Hockey League play.

Ben Chiarot and Scott Kosmachuk also scored for the IceCaps (1-0-1), who got a 30-save performance from Connor Hellebuyck.

Kael Mouillierat scored twice for the Sound Tigers (0-1-0) in the first period to give them an early 2-0 lead.

Bridgeport’s Kevin Poulin kicked out 31 shots in a losing cause.

St. John’s went 0 for 4 on the power play while the Sound Tigers failed to score on their only chance with the man advantage.
