Internet falls in love with perfectly awkward Connor McDavid photo

Watch as some fantastic eye-hand coordination allows Connor McDavid to bat the puck into the net and give the Edmonton Oilers a two goal lead.

Celebrity sightings are always exciting, but Rosalina and Jimmy Valeriano took it to a whole new level on Tuesday when they met Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid at the airport.

The duo asked to get a photo with McDavid, who was on his way to Anaheim with the rest of his team as they prepare for Wednesday’s Game 7 against the Ducks. The result might just be the best player-fan photo ever:

The photo was sent to Margeaux Morin by her family friend, and she tweeted it out only to see it immediately go viral.

We’re so glad she did.

“I didn’t even realize that I was holding him with that grip until I saw the picture,” Rosalina Valeriano told Morin, who wrote about the funny encounter on Global News. “I could not remember – I was so excited.”

McDavid, meanwhile, looks a little… tense.

According to Morin, the couple met a few other other Oilers too, and had their photo taken with Milan Lucic, Darnell Nurse, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins—but none were as perfectly charming (and awkward) as their photo op with McDavid.
