Is Nicklas Lidstrom the best defenceman of all-time?

Nicklas Lidstrom, 2002: Not yet the Red Wings captain, Lidstrom led an always-dangerous Red Wings squad with 16 points in 23 games and his calming defensive savvy. In claiming the Conn Smythe, Lidstrom, a native of Sweden, became the first European to win the award.

With his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday night, Nicklas Lidstrom’s place among the all-time greats is now cemented. Is he the best defender ever though? I think he just might be.
