The New York Islanders have placed defenceman Ryan Pulock on injured reserve retroactive to April 20 and have recalled forward James Wright from AHL Bridgeport.
Pulock played in the first four games of New York’s first-round series against the Florida Panthers, scoring a goal and two assists, before being held out the rest of the way with an upper-body injury.
Wright was originally drafted in the fourth round, 117th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He signed a two-year deal with the Islanders in July after spending the 2014-15 season in the KHL.
The 26-year-old has four goals and eight assists in 146 career NHL games. He finished tied for third on Bridgeport with 41 points (14 goals, 27 assists) in 73 games this season.
The Islanders, who eliminated the Panthers in double overtime Sunday night, will face the Lightning in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
