Islanders sign forward Ryan Strome to 2-year contract

Ryan Strome had a goal and assist in his return to the Islanders lineup as they beat the Avalanche 5-3.

The New York Islanders have signed forward Ryan Strome to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Strome will earn $5 million over the course of the deal.

Strome scored eight goals and totalled 28 points in 71 games with the Islanders in 2015-16.

The Islanders originally selected Strome fifth overall in the 2011 NHL Draft.
