Islanders sign Shane Prince for two more years

Pekka Rinne saved his best for last making a series-high 36 stops in a Game 7 win while Shane Prince had the first two-goal playoff game of his career and John Tavares scored the game-winner for the Islanders.

The New York Islanders re-signed RFA Shane Prince to a two-year deal, the club announced Friday.

The deal is worth a reported $1.7 million, and carries a cap hit of $850,000.

The 23-year-old forward finished the 2015-16 season with New York after coming over in a deadline trade from the Ottawa Senators.

He helped the Islanders’ playoff efforts with three goals and an assist in 11 games, including a two-goal effort to open the second-round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
