Byfuglien was injured on a seemingly harmless play during the second period. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound all-star appeared to suffer the injury while battling Senators winger Erik Condra on the end boards.

Byfuglien leads all Jets defencemen in scoring with 15 goals and 42 points to go along with a plus-8 rating and 118 penalty minutes in 64 games this season.
