The Star-Ledger reports a teenager from Pearl River, N.Y., was struck by a car and killed after leaving a Devils hockey game Tuesday night, authorities said Wednesday.

Thomas Argenti, 18, was struck at about 10:30 p.m. near East Kinney Street and McCarter Highway, acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel A. DeMaio said in a joint statement.

Argenti was pronounced dead about a half-hour later, the statement said.

The 28-year-old driver, who was not identified, stopped and remained on the scene, Murray and DeMaio said. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
