Winnipeg Jets defenceman Tyler Myers has left Friday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche and will not return after suffering a lower-body injury.

It was not clear when Myers got hurt, but he was not on the Winnipeg bench to start the third period.

Myers’ absence opened up a spot for Jacob Trouba on the team’s second pairing with Tobias Enstrom.

Trouba ended re-signed with the Jets on Monday, rescinding a trade request of his due to a lack of ice time on his right side. He was making his season debut against Colorado.

Myers has two goals and three assists so far this season.
