The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without forward Joffrey Lupul for the next two weeks, according to head coach Randy Carlyle.

Lupul suffered a Grade 2 groin strain during Monday’s 6-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets and will not travel with the team during its three-game road trip that begins Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

In 22 games with the Leafs this season, Lupul has eight goals, 15 points and 18 penalty minutes. The 30-year-old Saskatchewan native missed two games earlier in the year with a bruised foot.

This injury is the latest in a series of setbacks Lupul has faced in his time with the Leafs. During last season’s 48-game schedule, he suited up for just 16 contests after missing 25 games with a broken arm and five with a concussion–he also missed two due to suspension. In the 2011-12 campaign, he missed 16 games with a separated shoulder.
