John Tortorella refuses to answer questions after blowout loss to Oilers

After being beat 7-2 by the Edmonton Oilers, Blue Jackets’ coach John Tortorella didn’t have much to say to reporters.

Columbus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella gave what might be the shortest post-game press conference in NHL history following a blowout 7-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday night.

“Listen guys, I know you have a job to do. I’m not answering any questions tonight,” Tortorella told reporters at Nationwide Arena. “There’s no sense in me even trying to answer questions about this evening. OK? Sorry about that. Have a good night.”

Exit stage left.

Columbus was down 1-0 after the first period, but the Oilers scored four times in the second stanza, including two goals in the final 51 seconds of the frame.

The Blue Jackets were outshot 38-29, allowing two power-play goals and one short-handed marker.

The last time the current Metropolitan Division leaders allowed seven goals in a game was on Oct. 14, 2015.
