Jones, Sedin, Shattenkirk named NHL stars of the week

NEW YORK — San Jose Sharks goaltender Martin Jones, Vancouver Canucks left-wing Daniel Sedin and St. Louis Blues defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk are the NHL’s three stars of the week.

Jones went 3-0-0 with a 1.63 goals-against average, .951 save percentage and one shutout as the Sharks completed a sweep of a season-high, six-game road trip. The Sharks became the sixth team in NHL history to sweep of a road trip of six or more games,

Jones highlighted his week with a 34-save performance for his 10th career shutout as San Jose beat Philadelphia 1-0 in overtime on Thursday.

Sedin led the NHL with five goals and ranked second with seven points over four games. He had three goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in 6-3 victory over Chicago on Saturday. Sedin’s registered his career hat trick and reached the 900-point plateau in the game.

Shattenkirk led all defencemen with six points (two goals, four assists) in four games.
