The former Oilers winger, traded for winger Ryan Strome on Thursday, wore No. 14 during his seven seasons in Edmonton. That number is currently taken by defenceman Thomas Hickey.
Fourteen players have sported No. 7 throughout Islanders’ history, with Matt Carkner as the most recent to do so.
