Carolina Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal suffered a concussion during Sunday’s game against the the Florida Panthers and has no timetable for a return, as per team general manager Ron Francis.
The injury occurred 10 minutes into the first period when the stick of Panthers defenceman Jason Demers hit Staal in the head. The veteran centre left the game immediately and did not return with what the team originally called an upper-body injury.
The 28-year-old has nine points (five goals, four assists) in 21 games with the Hurricanes this season.
