Kings’ Pearson faces hearing after hit on Oilers’ Davidson

Watch as Tanner Pearson hits Brandon Davidson hard with a shoulder to the head.

Los Angeles Kings winger Tanner Pearson will be hearing from the NHL Department of Player Safety, the league announced Monday.

Time and date for the hearing have yet to be determined.

Pearson was ejected from Sunday’s pre-season game against the Edmonton Oilers when he dealt a blow to the head of defenceman Brandon Davidson.

Watch the play at the top of this post, and you’ll see that Pearson’s shoulder appears to make contact with Davidson’s chin.

The incident occurred midway through the second period. Davidson did not return.

The Oilers came away with a 3-2 victory.
