Kings centre Richards cleared to play

The Los Angeles Kings will get their star centre back.

Mike Richards has been cleared to play after missing seven games with a concussion, according to Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos.

He is expected to play by the end of the week.

Richards was hurt late in the second period of Los Angeles’ 2-1 win over Florida on Dec. 1 in a collision with Sean Bergenheim, who did not receive any supplemental discipline on the play.

In 25 games this season, Richards recorded 11 goals and nine assists.
